CHOROS is a space themed Puzzle Platformer designed to be a narrative game on an arcade machine. This game came to fruition during one of Sheridan College's "Sprint Week" Challenges.
This sprint week took place during the 3rd year of my degree program and was used as a means of assembling a team of students that we could potentially work with during our 8 month long 4th year degree project.
The objective of the sprint week was to create an arcade game. Since our team was aiming to create a narrative driven game for our degree project, we decided to try our hand at a narrative game built for arcade.

I am greatly proud of this game project because of how much my team and I were able to accomplish within our time limit.
The game was completed within 4 days showcasing a full story, beginning to end, and 5 complete levels.
I was responsible for the character art and working collaboratively with our environment artist to ensure that all the assets remained cohesive and were completed within our time frame. I am extremely proud of how well I was able to maintain the aesthetic of the game as I was inexperienced in making vector graphics at the time.
I now pride myself on my ability to match others' art styles and love learning new techniques from my friends and colleagues.

CHARACTER DESIGN

The character floats around the space ship using a jet pack like oxygen tank, so in order to make the movement feel right and realistic, the limbs were made using joints. This allowed for the characters limbs to float freely and look natural with players inertia when propelling in different directions. It made the character look as if they were floating in zero gravity as they would in a derelict space ship.
